Criteria for application

Submission for 2016 is closed. The winners will be announced at the congress.



  • The candidate should clarify for which prize he / she applies
    • Early researcher
    • Post doc
    • Clinical impact

For the early researcher: The candidate should be at the early stage of a research career and hold a higher degree, PhD or equivalent

  • For the post doc: The candidate should hold a PhD or equivalent, have performed independent research and have a substantial publication list
  • For the clinical impact: The candidate should hold a medical degree, a PhD or equivalent, and be involved in clinical research

All applications should address:

  • Strongly documented interest and skills in palliative care research
  • Evidence of academic development
  • Quality of the application – detailed research methods, relevance to palliative care
  • Environment / research group the candidate has worked within
  • Evidence of publications and presentations of work at conferences or similar events
  • Evidence of scientific awards, if any
  • The candidate should be able and willing to give a plenary lecture in English at the 9th World Research Congress of the EAPC
  • Applicants from all over the world are welcome
